A MEMORY OF THE JOY OF CHILDHOOD, APRIL 1, 2017
Ancient Arts Stained Glass owner Mark Schoem collaborated with our client Linda Gunn on the design
of her window depicting a colorful, stylized version of the Angels Gate
breakwater in San Pedro. When she was a child, Linda and her family
loved the excitement of exploring Angels Gate.
Because of the large size of the opening, 58 1/2” x 57 1/2,” it was
necessary and prudent to divide the stained glass into 3 sections using
1” steel T-Bar. Long time friend and expert stained glass installer
Phillip Greer prepared the T-Bar and led the installation of the wood
spacer, T-Bar and stained glass in the living room of Linda’s home in
Long Beach.
The
window uses many different types of glass: cathedral, antique and
opalescent as well as beveled glass and glass jewels. Linda Gunn is an
accomplished painter (www.LindaGunn.com),
illustrator and children’s book author. The Angels Gate breakwater still
inspires Linda and is a source for her wildlife paintings. It was a
great pleasure to work together with Linda to make her vision a reality.
